John Ufuk Gokcen

A former Boeing senior structures engineering instructor with 42 years of diversified aviation experience over airline line and heavy maintenance, new airplane design, reliability & maintainability, aging airplane programs, stress analysis, customer support and maintenance and training programs and manuals development.

 

Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Aerospace Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (I.T.U.). Received his Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from I.T.U. in 1984. Attended a post-graduate specialization program on aircraft structures and systems at Ecole Nationale Superieure de l’Aeronautique et de l’Espace (Supaero) in Toulouse, France in 1983.  

Gokcen has specialized in fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion and metal and composites repair engineering. He is a member of FAA and EASA endorsed industry wide SAE-Commercial Aviation Composites Repair Committee (CACRC) where global standards set for composites repair and training.

Gokcen worked in Turkish Airlines Technic as a manager, Boeing Canada and Bombardier as a lead engineer in multiple new airplane designs. Gokcen has served as a senior instructor of metal, metalbond and composites structures repair engineering and applications until his retirement in December 2022 from Boeing after 30 years of service. He has trained more than 10,000 managers, engineers, inspectors, specialists, academicians and technicians over 5 continents.   

Gokcen has been awarded the Professional Engineer recognition in Canada and the Dale Carnegie “Vision” award.
